Citroën C-ZERO

Citroën C-ZERO Car Insurance

First launched in France back in 2009 and in 2017 named by CAP HPI as the least expensive used electric car to run, the Citroën C-ZERO is a full-electric vehicle powered by a permanent magnet synchronous in turn powered by a 330-volt lithium-ion battery system (keeping battery weight down) mounted in the centre of the vehicle. To recharge the battery owners simply plug the supply cord into a 220-voltsocket. A complete charge lasts six hours.

Simplicity is at the heart of the C-ZERO. When the driver turns the ignition key a beep confirms that the car is running and the traditional fuel gauge is replaced by a battery charge indicator.

Citroën launched the C-ZERO following research that modern driving is characterised, in the week, by short journeys of less than 25 miles on average, with a full 70% of trips under 19 miles. The car is designed for use by both companies and private individuals.

Practicality is offered by its four seats and 166-litre boot and features include features include power steering, ABS, TCS, ESP, power windows, six airbags and air conditioning.

A 9-m turning circle make it suitable for city driving and a top speed of 80 mph and acceleration from 0-62 mph in 15 seconds and 37-66 mph in six seconds, along with a range of around 80 miles over a standard combined cycle means that it is also at ease out on the open road.
